We had the chance to meet the guys at Vex Robotics this weekend. They are at the Maker Faire New York to exhibit and demonstrate their educational and competitive robotic products. They provide to learning institutes and roboticists around the globe, striving to keep their VEX Robotics Design System as affordable, accessible and adjustable as possible, to perform as a platform for teaching STEM.

VEX RoboticsTheir VEXpro products are designed with robotic enthusiasts in mind, giving the user high quality and advanced performance for a competitive price.

Their new product, the VEX IQ platform is aimed towards academics, both student and teacher, and is a toolless platform designed to be a fun, simple and easy way for students to learn about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

We spoke to one of the team and he told us about their new platform VEX IQ:

After talking to the team and seeing the products in action, it is clear to see the desire to get the younger generation involved in STEM and possibly a future career in one of the fields. Where children would normally avoid the subjects that make up STEM, VEX have come up with a fun, easy and enticing way to get the kid’s to engage.

There is a worldwide competition using VEX IQ that kids and learning institutes can get involved in, the current challenge “The Add it up Robot Game” that comes with an optional STEM research project is shown below:

Whether you are a novice, academic, or experienced roboticists there is something for everyone to get involved in at VEX Robotics. You can visit them using the link below.
