Come Rain or Shine

The beauty about modern development boards like the Raspberry PI is the speed that ideas can become reality. In this case with a few lines of code a Raspberry PI is transformed into an internet connected weather station.

It uses a Yahoo weather feed and collects the data via their RSS weather API.

raspberry-pi-usb-lcd-monitorHowever this on its own wasn’t enough, so a new USB LCD monitor was connected to display the latest weather information in a nice and simple way.

It’s an assembled 2.8 inch color graphics LCD with on board LCD controller and a resolution of 320×240. Found on ebay and it’s almost a brand-less product.

The project will be available with full instructions very soon via instructable (We’ll add the link as soon as it’s ready!)
